  i recently broke up with my girlfriend of four years.. she is 40 years old, with health problems, financial problems, little family/friend support, and facing an uncertain future.

  i gave her some money.. the guilt i am experiencing right now is absolutely anguishing.

  she had very, very high hopes about our relationship and loved me very deeply.

  Do you detect an underlying sadness ?

  whenever i talk to jw's, and even in some of the jw official videos, i detect a definite vibe of sadness coming off these people.. i am very sensitive to "atmospheres" and to peoples emotional state, you wouldn't think so, because more often than not i do not react to what i detect, i just let people get on with it.. but i do get this feeling that they are sad, probably because very, very, very deep down they realise that it is all false, maybe ?.

  The last time I attended a meeting at the JW assembly hall in London Ohio was in 2001. I remember looking around at the people sitting in their chairs, hearing the same old thing. I found the whole scene to be incredibly saddening, so much so that I just had to get up and leave. Probably some of it was me projecting though as I was going through a very difficult time.

  Gosh. It's not getting better. It just gets worse.

  This is like survivor's guilt or something. Like last night i went out with some friends and it's like i can hardly enjoy myself - all i can think about is that she's alone in her condo, with her financial problems, and her uncertain future, and feeling like she has nothing to live for or hope for.

  I wonder if I'm just projecting all of this?

  I wonder if I should just go back to her and make the best of it?

  The financial issues bother me the most. I'm lucky in that I've made it out of the ever-swelling nickeled-and-dimed-to-death ranks of the working poor in the US; i make a decent income and I don't have money worries right now. The same is not the case for her and I doubt that it ever will be.

  I want to rescue her so bad. Is that true love?

  I just can't stand the thought of her sitting at her condo being sad and crying and feeling lonely.

  Plus I was reading tonight that the US economy is going to collapse soon. Who is going to protect her from the marauding bands? not joking

  I'm thinking about inviting her to couples counseling. I find that the idea of never seeing her again is just not sitting well and that we can work things out.

  just found out my 12 year old niece got baptized on saturday.

  that is the same age i got baptized....as we all know it just should not be allowed.

  if a child is not mature enough in other areas of life how can they be mature enough to commit their lives to the borg?
